EcoMatPro® was called in to support urgent pipeline repairs. A project facing severe delays due to impassable wet terrain. With contract penalties looming and the export pipeline connection stalling, the client requested a rapid access solution that could handle soft ground and swamp conditions.

Adaptable Ground Protection Solution
Critical pipeline repairs became impassable at a swamp zone where equipment couldn’t cross the waterlogged section to complete the connections. ECM-70 Gripper mats enabled access over inclines and slopes, but a creative solution was needed for the flat crossing.
With limited matting on site, EcoMatPro’s engineer proposed a 2.8 mtr wide single-track access road, using a foundation constructed from native mud without additional fill or compaction. The temporary swamp crossing was constructed in one day, and the ECM-70 Gripper matting was installed in under four hours, restoring critical access for construction teams.
